HOME PAGE OPENING REMARKS

On behalf of the U.S. Embassy, �T am pleased to see the continued strong support and interest from the people of Niigata towards the United States. The Niigata Japan-America Society has worked tirelessly over the past forty years to promote friendship across the Pacific through cultural exchanges such as organizing lectures and events. The Society is forging ahead to develop new froms of mutual understanding by introducing a homepage that should facilitate further exchanges. 新潟日米協会　会長　北方文化博物館 館長　伊藤　文吉

新潟日米協会が発足して40余年になります。その間日本とアメリカの文化交流を通じて親善に務めてまいりましたが、時代の流れに伴い コミニケーションのとり方も常に変化して「文化交流」と一口に言うのは簡単ですが、日常のコミニケーションを持たないとなかなか実行できるものではありません。 　「ホームページ」を開設して若い世代にも参加していただき、会員間の一層の交流を深めていきたいと思っております。 気軽に会員各位及びご友人にもご利用していただけるよう期待しております。 More than 40 years have passed since the inauguration of the Niigata Japan America Society.　 During that time　we have been working to promote friendship and cultural exchange between our two countries. With the passing of time we have seen a change in the way communication is exchanged, so to keep pace with　these changes we have opened a homepage for the society. We invite the younger generation to join with our officers to deepen understanding between our countries.
